The 2017-18 Northern Territory Budget has been announced, delivering a record spend on infrastructure.
Treasurer Nicole Mainison, said the Budget delivers a record infrastructure spend of $1.75 billion in 2017/18, right across the state, including capital works, roads projects, housing, education, health and community assets..
“This record investment in infrastructure will support jobs, grow our economy and help attract more private investment in the NT,” Ms Mainison said
“This Government will invest in job-creating infrastructure and visionary projects that will improve our economy through tourism, private investment and revitalisation.
“This includes a record repairs and maintenance investment of $297 million cash, ensuring work flows quickly and steadily to benefit tradies and contractors across the Territory.
“Budget 2017/18 will see us through the next 12 months and beyond, with projects designed to create jobs and improve infrastructure, and funding to attract and secure private investment in the Territory.”
