Queensland Urban Utilities has awarded a company the Southern Treatment Plants Capital Works Program, a five-year project estimated at $170 million.
John Holland will commence work to future-proof south-east Queensland’s sewage treatment facilities in March 2019.
The package of works to renew and upgrade existing treatment facilities in the regions of Ipswich, Somerset, the Lockyer Valley and the Scenic Rim is aimed at allowing local communities to grow.
John Holland General Manager – QLD/NT, Rob Evans, said, “We are extremely pleased to have secured this program of works, providing critical infrastructure upgrades for the people of south-east Queensland.
“John Holland has a long history of delivering water and wastewater assets in the region and we look forward to continuing this legacy over the next five years in collaboration with Queensland Urban Utilities.”
General Manager Water Services, Mal Shepherd, said the program represents much more than delivering critical wastewater treatment infrastructure.
