Work will soon begin to improve the safety for motorists on Wine Country Drive at Nulkaba with the New South Wales Government allocating $2.8 million to install new drainage and provide a safer road surface from 200m south of Kerlew Street to Fletcher Street.

Cessnock City Council will complete the work on behalf of Roads and Maritime.

Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Road, Maritime and Transport Kevin Anderson MP said, “For the safety of workers and motorists, changed traffic conditions will be in place including lane closures on Wine Country Drive which may affect travel times.

“Motorists are advised there will be temporary detours in place, which will operate 24 hours a day while work is carried out.”

Work is expected to be complete by the end of June 2017, weather permitting.
