The Launceston Airport Terminal Reconfiguration Project has reached the next stage following the opening of the new exit race and redirection of pedestrian traffic through one-way tunnels.

Contractors have removed the glazing from the gate lounges downstairs near the arrivals lift which in time will facilitate unimpeded access from the departure stairs to the arrivals stairs, opening up the apron level area.

In mid-September 2017, large window panes will be installed in the southern wall and the new screening point re-opened – whereby passengers will enter into the screening point from adjacent to the check-in hall.

The above work is in preparation for the major sterile area change which will occur in late September 2017. In the meantime, the temporary construction hoarding will remain in place to direct departing passengers to the top of the departure stairs and gate lounges beyond.
