The South Australian Government is calling for Expressions of Interest for more than $28 million of South Australian metropolitan road projects.

The projects include the $3.5 million Blackwood roundabout upgrade that will reduce the risk of collisions and cut delays for approximately 30,000 vehicles which travel through the roundabout each day.

The roundabout is one of more than 20 road infrastructure projects to be completed in the greater Adelaide metropolitan area through the package of works including:

  • $4.4 million Bridge Road/Maxwell Road intersection upgrade
  • $4.2 million Payneham Road/O.G. Road intersection upgrade
  • $1.3 million Regency Road/Churchill Road intersection upgrade

The program of works also includes upgrades to the Main North Road/Dalkeith Road intersection and the intersections of Fitzroy Terrace with Prospect Road and Main North Road.

A number of other upgrade projects on metropolitan roads will also be completed as part of the works.

Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Stephen Mullighan, said the projects will make roads safer and more efficient for road users.

“The State Government is investing more than half a billion dollars in road maintenance and safety upgrades over four years, including a $110 million stimulus package for more than 185 critical projects, supporting more than 300 jobs.”

The Expressions of Interest will be called on the Tenders SA website with the package of works scheduled to begin in December 2017.
