The Northern Territory’s investment potential will be showcased to an international audience at the Northern Australian Investment Forum to be held 20 -22 November 2017 in Cairns.

Chief Minister, Michael Gunner, and Minister for Primary Industry and Resources, Ken Vowles, will lead Team NT at the business, industry and government delegation.

The forum connects high-level investors from around the world with projects.

“We promised to focus on creating local jobs and this two day forum will be about Team NT telling the world we are a great place to invest,” Mr Gunner said.

“It’s an opportunity to showcase Northern Australia’s investment opportunities to an impressive and powerful international audience, and connect investors with projects.

“Northern Australia has some of the most compelling and attractive major project investment opportunities in Australia – we are seeking investors with a long-term interest in creating local business opportunities and jobs in the Territory.

“This is an opportunity for top tier international companies to meet with proponents of projects in the Northern Territory plus key private sector, community and government representatives.”

The NAIF is expected to attract over 500 participants, including 250 investors from around the world.

Team NT is made of government officials across Trade, Business and Innovation, Primary Industry and Resources, Tourism and Culture, Land Development Corporation, as well as project proponents from the Territory.

The Northern Territory Government is backing private-led investment in the state through a $1.75 billion infrastructure budget spend to back growth industries such as mining and agribusiness – and in turn support local jobs.

Mr Vowles said much of developing the north revolves around primary industry and resources and he would take the opportunity to meet with as many people as possible to discuss investment opportunities.
