The Northern Territory Government has awarded the tender to design and construct the $25 million Warren Park stadium at Marrara.
Halikos was awarded the tender and construction is expected to start in March 2018.
The concept design has been developed in consultation with NRLNT, NRL, NT Rugby Union, South Darwin Sporting League and associated clubs.
The facility will include three full-sized fields with one to national standard, a grandstand with 1200 seating capacity, four change-rooms, corporate facilities, food and beverage facilities, car parking, on-site storage for clubs, and the flexibility to host other sporting events requiring a rectangular field, such as rugby union and soccer.
The NRLNT’s offices will also be located there.
Temporary grandstands can be placed along the eastern side of the first field to further increase seating capacity when required.
