Port Hedland’s Main Street Jetty in Western Australia will be upgraded with users being able to enjoy the revamped facility from late May 2018.

Pilbara Ports Authority will be conducting essential maintenance in April and May 2018, and upgrading the facility to meet Australian Standards for public infrastructure, which includes wheelchair access.

The existing steel walkway and handrails on the upper deck will be replaced with a solid grid mesh walkway and new handrails.

New lighting will also be installed.

The jetty piles will be cleaned and wrapped. The lower level of the jetty will be cleaned and painted.

These works will be the first significant upgrades to the Main Street Jetty since it was originally installed in 2000.
