The Australiasian Reporting Award winners were announced at a ceremony in June with infrastructure organisations performing well.
The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads won gold, the NSW Department of Roads and Maritime Services won silver and the Port of Townsville took home bronze.
The awards were established in 1950 and aim to reward organisations for improving standards of financial reporting and communicating with stakeholders in Australia.
Port of Townsville Limited (POTL) Chief Executive Officer, Ranee Crosby, said that receiving an award from ARA was wonderful recognition of great teamwork between the Port and local business TBD, who designed the POTL Annual Report for 2016/17.
“Our Annual Report last financial year was a collaboration of ideas between the Port and TBD’s team, and it’s exciting to have been recognised for our work by an esteemed independent body,” Ms Crosby said.
“This is the first time we’ve nominated for an ARA so to get a gong is something we are proud of. This bronze award is inspiration for us to try even harder for the gold next year.
TBD Creative Director Travis Farley said that the result was a great achievement.
“As a local business, TBD is grateful to work with the Port of Townsville, and really happy to play a part in helping them receive national recognition for their efforts.”
