Australia’s ports, maritime and infrastructure sectors will gather in Darwin from 27-29 August 2018 at the Darwin Convention Centre for the Ports Australia Biennial Conference.

The conference will be opened and addressed by Deputy Prime Minister, Michael McCormack MP, Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Anthony Albanese, and a range of industry leaders.

The speakers will be looking at the opportunities and challenges for Australia’s ports and the role they will play in Australia’s growth as the country enters a new phase in its history. The population and freight task of the nation is increasing beyond estimates, leadership and vision will be required to properly navigate this growth and provide a supply chain that can handle the exploding freight task.

Ports Australia CEO, Mike Gallacher, said, “The conference is a chance for people to hear the various views and opinions on where the pain points and opportunities are as this country continues to exceed growth expectations.

“There are organisations and individuals in our sector running amazing projects that will strengthen this country’s competitiveness and a quality of life that Australians enjoy; we have managed to gather most of them under one roof for two days in Darwin.

“As well as the world-leading two days of presentations we have two social events, a cocktail party hosted by the Northern Territory Government at Parliament House and our Biennial Gala Dinner on the final night hosted by Darwin Port.”

Registrations are still open for the conference and can be purchased here. The full program can be viewed here.
