The global spotlight will shine on Adelaide when more than 500 professionals from across the insurance, enforcement, taxi, car hire, technology, research and disability sectors come together for the 3rd International Driverless Vehicle Summit between 31 October–2 November 2018 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
With a theme of ‘Accelerating the Mobility Evolution’ – the Summit provides opportunity to listen, network and collaborate with some of the world’s most prominent technology thought leaders, human factors experts, insurance and legal practitioners, and regulators from across the driverless vehicle ecosystem.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to learn more about best-practice, and innovative driverless vehicle trials and development programs underway around the world, and mix and mingle at a number of networking events designed to complement an outstanding program of keynote speakers and panel discussions.
Highlights include a number of technical tours on Day One, where delegates will visit deployment sites around Adelaide that have been funded by the South Australian Government’s Future Mobility Fund. The first day concludes with the summit’s first social event – Opening Night Connections at the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Day Two highlights include a comprehensive ‘state of the nation’ interactive discussion with a panel of leading autonomous vehicle and transport experts, as well as an afternoon session that profiles what Australian companies are doing to claim their fair share of this multi-billion dollar industry. The second day of the summit ends with a cocktail event at 2KW – one of Adelaide’s most prestigious venues that offers an unsurpassed birds-eye view of the city skyline.
Day Three takes on an international flavour, with a number of keynote speakers providing insight into overseas deployments, technology advances and learnings from further afield. There is an afternoon session on insurance and liability issues, while a hypothetical session is sure to spark great engagement and debate.
In addition to an exhibition hall featuring leading manufacturers, developers and driverless vehicle experts, for the first time, 2018’s event features the ADVI Innovation Hub, where the best and brightest home-grown innovators get to showcase their inventions to some of the largest tech and autonomous vehicle organisations and preeminent experts in the world.
Summit keynote speakers include:
- Hugh Durrant-Whyte, newly-appointed NSW Chief Scientist and world-renowned authority on machine learning and robotics
- Michael Molitor, Chairman of Uniti – a company which is at the cutting-edge of driverless technologies and now designing/manufacturing autonomous electric vehicles in Sweden and Australia
- David Keene, founder and CEO of RDM Group in the UK
