Recently-appointed Leader of the Opposition, Anthony Albanese, has appointed the Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development.

Catherine King will serve as the Shadow Minister for Infrastructure.

Ms King said, “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development.

“I thank my leader and good friend Mr Albanese for entrusting me with the portfolio he’s held for the last six years.”

Mr Albanese said his new team includes a blend of experienced former Government Ministers, as well as talented newcomers.
“My Shadow Ministry includes members from all parts of the nation. It reflects society, with half men and half women including the Shadow Cabinet Secretary,” Mr Albanese said.
The Australian Industry Group (Ai) congratulated all the new and returning federal Shadow Ministers who will take their positions in the next parliament.

Ai Group Chief Executive, Innes Willox, said, “Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Shadow, Catherine King, has a key productivity boosting portfolio.

“Now more than ever it is vital that the Opposition develop and maintain strong relationships with industry in Australia’s national economic interests.”
