The Victorian Government has appointed a building company to construct the last four of 14 new schools set to open in 2021.

Minister for Education, James Merlino, made the announcement that Kane Constructions had been appointed to build:

  • Cranbourne West Secondary School (interim name) – Cranbourne West
  • Pakenham Henry Road Secondary School (interim name) – Pakenham
  • Thoroughbred Primary School (interim name) – Clyde North
  • Timbertop Primary School (interim name) – Officer

“This exciting appointment means families across the state are a step closer to getting the great local school facilities their kids need to thrive,” Mr Merlino said.

The projects fall under that state’s $6.1 billion investment to build 100 new schools and upgrade more than 1,400 existing ones by 2026.

Builders have already been announced for:

  • Oberon High School – Armstrong Creek
  • Docklands Primary School (interim name) – Docklands
  • Edgars Creek Primary School (interim name) – Wollert
  • Eynesbury Station Primary School (interim name) – Eynesbury
  • Footscray High School, Pilgrim Street Campus – Seddon
  • Greenvale North West Primary School (interim name) – Greenvale
  • Merrifield West Primary School (interim name) – Mickleham
  • Rockbank North Primary School (interim name) – Aintree

  • Wollahra Primary School (interim name) – Wyndham Vale.

The architecturally designed schools have been designed to cater to the diverse needs of all Victorian students and provide what they need to actively engage with their education.

“We know that Victoria’s population is booming – that’s why we’re building 100 new schools and upgrading existing schools to meet the needs of our growing communities,” Mr Merlino said.
