Sydney Metro has revealed the three applicants shortlisted for a construction tender to deliver the new Crows Nest Station.
Following an expressions of interest process, AW Edwards, CPB Contractors and Laing O’Rourke were selected as shortlisted tenderers.
The applicants will now move to the Request for Tender (RFT) stage.
The new metro station at Crows Nest will provide a catalyst for increased public transport use, providing the community with another option for getting around Sydney.
Sydney Metro is seeking a construction-only contractor to deliver Crows Nest Station, which consists of two separate station entrances and enabling works to support the future over station development.
A delivery partner for the over-station development will be selected via a separate procurement process.
Consistent with the NSW Government’s commitment to the community, the station and over station development packages have been separated to enable the station to proceed so that the next stage of the metro can open in 2024 as planned while the NSW Government further considers community feedback regarding the development above the station.
This also allows the over station development to be further incorporated into an integrated planning outcome, consistent with the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment’s process to finalise the St Leonards and Crows Nest 2036 plan.
