Construction on the new Waterloo Station is continuing, following the completion of excavation and concrete lining.

About 16,000 square metres of waterproofing is being used to line the station area, enough to almost line the surface of the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Piling was completed in late 2020, followed by waterproofing, installation of steel reinforcement and concrete pouring work to form the floor.

These activities are due to be completed soon.

More than 75,000 tonnes of concrete and about 8,000 tonnes of steel will be used to build the station box.
