Austroads Bridge Conference 2022

Over 400 attendees came together for Austroads 11th Bridge Conference in Adelaide, to experience a premier interdisciplinary platform, as well as showcase and award outstanding bridge structures and designs.

The conference was presented by Austroads, alongside the Department for Infrastructure and Transport South Australia. Featuring high-calibre international and national speakers, the event offered a premier interdisciplinary platform for bridge practitioners to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends and practical challenges.

A diverse audience comprising bridge practitioners, material scientists and structural engineers shared their knowledge and experience in Adelaide from 15 to 18 November 2022.

The conference hosted the Austroads Bridge Awards, established to recognise the individuals and organisations that have delivered outstanding bridge structures and design across Australia and New Zealand.

Awards winners received a prestigious Austroads Bridge Awards trophy and certificate in recognition of their work, and the opportunity to deliver an online presentation on their award-winning project in an Austroads webinar in 2023.

Austroads Chief Executive, Geoff Allan, said Austroads is an organisation that values agility, collaboration, objectivity and knowledge sharing.

“We were very happy to welcome practitioners back to the Austroads Bridge Conference in beautiful South Australia,” Mr Allan said.

“The conference was a terrific opportunity to learn and connect with fellow practitioners who have been making important advances in bridge engineering.”
