Yarra Bay terminal

The New South Wales Government has announced that it will not proceed with the development of a cruise terminal at Yarra Bay – news welcomed by NSW Ports.

NSW Ports said the proposed cruise terminal development at Yarra Bay had the potential to impact on Port Botany’s operations and capacity to grow, jeopardising the efficiency of the state’s supply chains.

Port Botany is a key trade gateway for Australia, contributing $10.7 billion annually to New South Wales Gross State Product and supporting more than 52,000 jobs.

NSW Ports said it looks forward to continuing to cater for the state’s growing trade needs through Port Botany, for the benefit of communities, consumers and businesses.

NSW Ports manages the trade gateways of Port Botany and Port Kembla and intermodal facilities at Enfield and Cooks River, which contribute $13.6 billion annually to New South Wales Gross State Product and support about 65,000 jobs.
