Beca hosted New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and his delegation at the company’s Sydney office on Thursday 15 August.

Mr Luxon and his delegation met with Beca Group Executive Chair, David Carter, Managing Director Australia, Andrew Mailer, Executive Director and Senior Principal – Power, Vai Rane, State Manager NSW/ACT, Michael Warne and Chief Executive, EnergyCo, James Hay, to discuss how a Trans-Tasman business like Beca can share knowledge, skills and resources to solve collective problems in the energy, water and defence sectors.

Mr Luxon spoke highly of Beca, and the role they can play to deliver on Australia’s significant pipeline of work in the energy, water and defence sectors.

“I love the vision, scope and ambition of the work you [Beca] are doing,” Mr Luxon said.

Beca Managing Director Australia, Andrew Mailer, said the visit was an important opportunity to showcase how the company can leverage the significant resources required to deliver on the country-shaping opportunities ahead.

“Over the next decade, Australia is facing complex problems in the energy, infrastructure, water and defence sectors. These are generational challenges that will require significant human resource to deliver on them,” Mr Mailer said.

“Fortunately, Beca has a unique proposition in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. We are an employee-owned firm that is focused on long-term outcomes for the industry; and for the markets we are influencing this is of significant value to our clients.

“Our 4,300 people across the Asia-Pacific means our clients can access capability to deliver meaningful outcomes – taking advantage of the knowledge, skills and resources we know we need for the opportunities that are ahead of us,” he said.
