More than $65 million in private investment and over 200 jobs are set to flow into the Parkes Special Activation Precinct, with three new businesses planning operations at the regional NSW site.
The projects are expected to create more than 100 permanent jobs and a further 100 construction and establishment roles, marking one of the region’s largest recent investment announcements.
The NSW Government said attracting new businesses to the Parkes Precinct formed part of its strategy to grow regional economies and create high-value jobs across regional New South Wales.
The three companies planning to establish operations in the precinct are Soul Origin, Ecotech Enviro and Maya Recycling.
Soul Origin is proposing a cold storage, warehousing and distribution centre, while Ecotech Enviro plans to process raw steel materials into fabricated steel components for construction, infrastructure and industrial projects.
Maya Recycling is proposing an advanced plastic recycling facility to process mixed plastic waste into higher-value products.
The businesses have exchanged contracts securing land within the precinct and will now move through planning and approval processes ahead of settlement.
Operations are expected to begin from 2029.
The latest investment commitments bring the number of businesses within the Parkes Precinct to 12, with the site continuing to position itself as a hub for logistics, employment and industry in regional NSW.
Minister for Regional New South Wales, Tara Moriarty, said the investment represented another significant milestone for the precinct.
“This investment will continue to help attract new industries, create jobs and strengthen economic opportunities for the region,” Moriarty said.
“The strong response to the latest land release shows that industry has real confidence in the future of the Parkes Precinct.
“From cold storage to recycling and resource recovery, the businesses joining the precinct reflect the diverse and sustainable industries we want to see growing in this region.”
A Soul Origin Australia representative said the company was investing heavily in infrastructure and supply chain capability to support future growth across Australia and New Zealand.
“Central locations such as Parkes represent an exciting opportunity due to its strategic location, logistics connectivity, and future scalability,” the representative said.
Ecotech Enviro General Manager, Alex Soukie, said Parkes aligned with the company’s long-term development objectives.
“We believe our investment will support the economic growth of the region through job creation, local procurement, and long-term operational presence,” Soukie said.
Maya Recycling Director, Vishal Patel, said the precinct’s infrastructure and planning framework made it an attractive location for large-scale circular economy projects.
“Maya Recycling is committed to employment and workforce development, prioritising hiring from the Central West,” Patel said.
