Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) has announced the appointment of its new Executive General Manager Aviation, following an extensive search.
Mr Ryan Both will commence at BAC on 1 February 2022, replacing Jim Parashos who is leaving after five years with Brisbane Airport.
BAC Chief Executive Officer, Gert-Jan de Graaff, welcomed the new appointment which followed strong interest from a large selection of quality candidates.
“Ryan is a highly experience aviation executive who has held senior positions with high profile companies including Virgin Australia, Melbourne Airport, and Cobham Aviation Services where he was CEO, and most recently, working in zero-emission aviation as the Asia Pacific Region Lead with Eve Urban Air Mobility, an Embraer spin-off company,” Mr de Graaff said.
“He brings a broad background of experience to the role including aviation development and forecasting, leveraging real-time data and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as general management of airline, fly-in-fly-out (FIFO) and air freight operations, which makes him a welcome addition to our strong and experienced management team.
“I would also like to acknowledge the great work and contribution that Jim Parashos has made at BAC over the past five years.
“Jim was instrumental in Brisbane Airport securing new and increased services from Asia with key international airline partners, establishing new routes with Qantas to San Francisco and Chicago, setting up Brisbane Airport and Brisbane Economic Development Agencies’ representation offices in the North America and ASEAN markets, and creating a more collaborative and strategic approach to aviation forward planning with key partners.
“Jim will be greatly missed, and we offer our warmest wishes as he embarks on many new adventures.”
