As transport infrastructure grows more complex and interconnected, the need for collaboration across technology, policy and delivery has never been more pressing. Intelligent transport systems are no longer emerging concepts – they’re actively shaping how cities move, how networks perform, and how infrastructure investments deliver long-term value.
Against this backdrop, the ITS Australia Global Summit 2026 will be held in Melbourne from 22–24 September at the Melbourne Exhibition & Convention Centre, bringing industry leaders together to examine how connected transport solutions are being applied in practice.
Under the theme Connected Transport for Now and Tomorrow, delegates will explore how intelligent, connected and data‑driven transport solutions are being deployed today while laying the foundations for safer, more sustainable and more resilient transport infrastructures of the future.
The event builds on the success of the 2025 ITS Global Summit held in the Gold Coast, attracting hundreds from across the globe, including delegates from the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Singapore, Korea, Japan and New Zealand.
A highlight of the program was a series of live demonstrations from organisations including Toyota, Deloitte and Queensland University of Technology (QUT), showcasing how emerging technologies are being deployed in real-world environments and allowing a touch/feel opportunity for delegates.
ITS Australia member Artcraft attended its first Summit in 2025, using the event as a platform to strengthen industry connections and showcase its expanding national capability.
“Attending and exhibiting at our first ITS Australia Summit marked an important step for Artcraft as we expand our national solutions capability,” said Nick Mawer, Head of Product Development and Growth at Artcraft.
“It enabled us to engage directly with key stakeholders, build valuable connections, and start conversations that are now translating into real opportunities. We’re looking forward to returning in 2026 and continuing that momentum.”
This year, that momentum continues, with the Summit branding refreshed to represent the international talent and significance it has come to command.
The program for the now Global Summit will be developed by a cross-sector committee representing government, academia and the private sector, reflecting current industry trends and priorities and exploring themes such as data and artificial intelligence, resilience, sustainability and evolving infrastructure funding models, including road user charging.
As intelligent transport systems continue to evolve from emerging technologies into critical infrastructure, the ITS Australia Global Summit 2026 will provide an important forum for industry leaders to share knowledge, strengthen partnerships and explore the solutions shaping connected transport for now and tomorrow.
