Building Queensland has appointed a leading infrastructure expert as its new CEO.
Damien Gould was selected by the independent Building Queensland Board due to his proven track record in delivering infrastructure.
Queensland Deputy Premier and Minister for Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning, Jackie Trad, welcomed Mr Gould to the position.
“The Palaszczuk Government looks forward to working with Mr Gould to continue Building Queensland’s rigorous independent assessment of major infrastructure planning, prioritisation and investment,” Ms Trad said.
“Mr Gould has 20 years’ experience in government and infrastructure sectors and has worked on major projects such as the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing and Origin Energy’s Australia Pacific LNG project.
“I would like to thank interim CEO David Quinn who took on the task of setting up Building Queensland and producing the first infrastructure pipeline reports.”
Chair of the Building Queensland Board, Alan Millhouse, said Mr Gould was appointed following a highly competitive, nationwide recruitment process which attracted more than 100 applications.
“Building Queensland is in a very strong position to continue its role of providing frank and fearless advice to the Queensland Government on projects that will deliver returns to local communities,” Mr Millhouse said.
