The Australasian Tunnelling Society (ATS) conference, taking place from 30 October – 1 November at The Star in Sydney, will bring together the best technical experts from every facet of the tunnelling industry to debate and discuss the future of underground space.
The conference is only held once every three years and is the focal point which draws together the best designers, contractors, suppliers and key clients under one roof – an opportunity not to be missed.
Conference Chair Nigel Casey, said, “We have an impressive group of invited speakers this year.
“These Australian and international industry luminaries will share their insights on the delivery
strategies, construction methodologies and innovations being delivered by projects of major national and international significance.”
Tim Reardon, Secretary of Transport for NSW, will provide the opening address, and other invited speakers include Professor Robert Galler, Professor of Geotechnics and Underground Construction at Austria’s University of Leoben; and Alexandre Gomes, Vice President of the International Tunnelling Association and Chief Technical Principal at SMEC.
Lisa Tobin, Group General Manager Technology, Transurban; and Angela Fiumara, Executive
Director Stakeholder and Community Engagement RMS, will provide insight into the evolving context of delivering and operating tunnel assets.
