Major works are currently being completed on the Ballarat rail line, with a crew of 400 construction workers endeavouring to meet a two week deadline.

The two weeks of construction will include:

  • A pedestrian overpass at Bacchus Marsh Station
  • A new track at Maddingley, Ballan, Melton and near Caroline Spring
  • Major works at Rockbank Station

More than 885,000 hours have been worked on the project so far, with crews laying 26kms of track, installing more than 40,000 concrete sleepers and 100,000 tonnes of ballast.
