A contract has been awarded to deliver the first stage of the West Franklin Development on behalf of the developer Greaton.

Build Environs has been awarded the contract. The West Franklin master planned development will create an entirely new destination within Adelaide’s City West. Situated on the corner of Franklin, Elizabeth and Morphett Streets, the lifestyle precinct represents the future of living in Adelaide and comprises 560 luxurious apartments and penthouses spread across four iconic towers.

The first stage of West Franklin is located on the corner of Elizabeth and Franklin Streets and features 272 residential apartments spread across two towers (north tower is 20 storeys and the south tower is 18 storeys).

The buildings both share a common podium comprising 1,100 sqm of retail on the ground level, resident facilities and car parking (236 spaces). Residential facilities include a 20m lap pool, gym, spa, sauna, resident dining rooms, BBQ facilities, cinema, golf simulator and rooftop bar.

Nicho Teng, Managing Director of Greaton said, “West Franklin is Greaton’s first major residential project in Australia. The company purchased the site from Adelaide City Council in 2014 and knew it had the potential to dramatically change Adelaide’s City West.

“Appointing the builder is a major milestone for the project. Greaton is pleased to partner with one of Adelaide’s reputable builders to build this significant development.

“Built Environs is committed to safety, innovation and best practice building principles, backed by a strong parent company – McConnell Dowell Group which made them an obvious choice to build West Franklin.”

Built Environs Managing Director, Daryl Young, “Securing the West Franklin project is an important achievement for our business and provides a great opportunity to partner with Greaton to deliver a significant development. What a fantastic way to commemorate our 30th year operating in Adelaide.”

Local Adelaide architects Brown Falconer led the exterior design and interior fit-out. The urban village precinct has been designed to meld with the historic fabric of the site. Its stylish glass, metal and stone exteriors are designed for the 21st century.
