Melbourne’s eleventh level crossing has been removed along one of the busiest east-west arterial roads.
The removal of the level crossing, located along Camp Road in Campbellfield, is part of the Victorian Government’s program to remove 50 dangerous and congested crossings across Melbourne.
A team worked to remove the level crossing, install the foundations and construct the new road bridge deck.
Work will continue on the level crossing during early December 2017, to construct the new rail corridor beneath the road, which will see trains on the Upfield Line return to full service on 18 December 2017.
