Final works are now under way on the outbound exit of the West Gate Tunnel between Williamstown and Millers Road.
Over the last few months, the West Gate Tunnel crews have made steady progress in finishing off asphalting works around the outbound tunnel exit, along with completing the cladding on the Southern westbound tunnel exit ventilation structure and completing barrier, kerb, and drainage works around the Williamstown Road westbound entry ramp.
To put on the final touches before opening the West Gate Tunnel by end 2025, crews will now move over to the express lanes between Williamstown Road and Millers Road to complete asphalting and line marking work.
Lane and ramp closures between Williamstown Road and Millers Road include:
From 11.59pm, Friday 12 September to 10.30pm, Sunday 14 September
- The West Gate Freeway outbound will be reduced to two lanes 24/7, between Williamstown and Millers Roads
- Williamstown Road outbound entry ramp to the Freeway will be closed
- One lane will be closed on the West Gate Freeway inbound between Williamstown and Millers Road on Sunday
From 10.30pm, Sunday 14 September to 5am, Monday 15 September
- Overnight closure of West Gate Freeway outbound between Williamstown and Millers Roads
