Sydney will play host to Connect Rail 2024, an exciting multi-staged conference and exhibition taking place on 5-6 August 2024 at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth. Showcasing the latest innovations and business opportunities, the event will connect technology, knowledge, and people all under one roof for an interactive exchange of ideas and solutions. The 2024 event will feature three separate conference stages, named:
- Rail Operations
- Rail Infrastructure
- Rail Decarbonisation
“We wanted to provide one meeting place to connect and share the common experiences and learnings needed to meet the future demands of a transitioning industry and showcase the many exciting advancements and success stories to date,” said Tina Karas, Connect Rail’s program director.
The first release of speakers featured representatives from; ONRSR, Sydney Metro Authority, City Rail Link Ltd, Aurizon, Transport for NSW, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, Rio Tinto, Pacific National, Jacobs, Aurecon, Transdev Australia & New Zealand, Metro Trains Melbourne, Queensland Rail, Yarra Trains, and more, while Alstom, Westermo and DIGAS have joined the exhibition.
All three conference stages, the exhibition, and the recharge station will all be on one floor, providing a seamless movement between experiences, opportunities to network, and those chance meetings.
“While we might have changed the way we learn and travel since the pandemic, the power of meeting all the right people and in the right place is only stronger. It’s sometimes those serendipitous meetings that lead to a breakthrough or those face-to-face exchanges with people you’ve been emailing all year that finalise agreements and we wanted to create an atmosphere that was conducive to selective and superior networking.
That’s why we have all three conference stages on the same floor as the exhibition area. We didn’t want people to lose time and miss opportunities by walking back and forth across multiple spaces,” Ms. Karas said.
