Hastings Deering is proud to be the sole distributor of paving equipment manufactured by US company Weiler in Queensland and the Northern Territory.

e2850Weiler Vice President, Bill Hood, flew to Brisbane from Iowa to join Hastings Deering for the launch of the new E2850 Remixing Transfer Vehicle (RTV) to their paving product range, the first of its kind available in Australia.

Mr Hood said road construction companies welcomed the deal because competition had been previously limited to the availability of one type of machine in Australia.

e2850-on-site“This is a very exciting time for the construction industry,” Mr Hood said.

”We have been working on this arrangement for five years in response to calls from the industry for our machinery. Contractors know about Weiler performance and have wanted our products for a long time.

“The E2850 is a specialised machine serving a niche market but is a critical component of the paving train to give the highest quality roads. Hasting Deering is the first stop for the unit but the other CAT dealers across the country will be selling and supporting the entire Weiler product line as well.

“Our paving and road construction product range offers customers unmatched improvements in productivity, efficiency and industry compliance. Together with Caterpillar, Hastings Deering can now offer full end-to-end paving and road construction solutions, from asphalt pavers, road profilers to road wideners and now the all-new E2850 Remix Transfer Vehicle.”

Hastings Deering Road Construction and Infrastructure Sales Manager, Ryan Van Den Broek, said the new Remixing Transfer Vehicle was showcased to leading industry contractors, from Boral Asphalt and Downer to Fulton Hogan.

“Adding to that we have a greenfield site where for the next two weeks we will put the machine through its paces,” Mr Van Den Broek said.

“This is a game changer for the industry and an exciting time for Hastings Deering because we can offer so much more to the major asphalt contractors.

bill-hood-weiler“Having these machines in our stable means we are able to increase our penetration into major asphalt contractors. Hastings Deering already utilises the Weiler front mount extension screeds on Caterpillar pavers so we will also be able to offer niche machines into the civil construction market with other products from Weiler (i.e. road wideners).

“The Weiler E2850 RTV is directed towards the major road projects, which are normally serviced by the major asphalt contractors. We are reacting to a demand, by these contractors, for another RTV manufacturer in Australia that offer efficiencies that increase life of wear items.”

The first Weiler E2850 Remixing Transfer Vehicle along with a Cat AP600F Asphalt Paver have been delivered to Boral Asphalt.
