A few years ago, the architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industry was among the least digitised industries, but implementing digital technologies can see significant benefits when it comes to connecting projects, increasing efficiency and reducing costs. BIM and 3D modelling is at the heart of this digital transformation.
Looking to the future of the construction industry, Dassault Systèmes – a global leader in 3D design and engineering software – is hosting a series of three Smart Construction Rendez-vous webinars throughout November to show businesses how they can best prepare and plan for a digital future.
Hosted by Melle Whiting, Head of Infrastructure at Dassault Systèmes Australia, the Smart Construction Rendez-vous will run on Thursday 12, 19 and 27 November from 2:00pm – 2:45pm (AEST).
The third session on Friday 27 November will be taken by Building Lifecycle Management (BLM) Digital 3D Solutions Manager, and Former SNC Lavalin’s Digital Engineering Manager, Vince Gattola.
It will detail how companies can fast-track their projects to achieve the Australian Government’s target to priority projects that have been brought forward.
Undergoing a digital transformation
Vince’s presentation Adopting 3DEXPERIENCE in the AEC Industry for Rail and Transit SNC-Lavalin, Major Projects will explore how the Canadian EPC company implemented its digital transformation to better collaborate and improve efficiency from design to construction.
Vince is the BLM Digital 3D Solutions Manager and is currently playing a key role in SNC-Lavalin’s Digital Transformation. As primary instigator of the Building Lifecycle Management (BLM) vision and initiative within SNC-Lavalin’s Infrastructure Engineering, Vince is focusing on developing digital solutions for end-to-end collaboration, innovation in design via automated processes and BLM integrated processes to satisfy the full infrastructure lifecycle for engineering, construction, and operations and maintenance for SNC-Lavalin’s major projects.
He will provide delegates with information about topics including:
- Digital twins
- BIM maturity levels and models
- Challenges for traditional delivery processes and technical challenges of BIM
- SNC-Lavalin’s adaptation of an Building Lifecycle Management (BLM) end-to-end solution
- Case studies
- Integrated model and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
- Design optimisation
- Automated processes
- Knowledge templates
- SNC-Lavalin and Dassault Systèmes Partnership
- Pilot Project R.E.M LRT Rail Project
Vince has over 21 years of industry experience with various implementations catering to the product lifecycle management (PLM) industry. He has been successful in implementing solutions for small to large companies in the government, aerospace, automotive, military/defence, civil, architectural and the consumer products industry.
In the last ten years in the architecture, engineering and construction industry, he has been developing digital solutions and leveraging BIM capabilities to deliver BLM integrated processes for project delivery.
As technology continues to evolve, it’s integral to keep up to date with the latest technology. This partner content is brought to you by Dassault Systèmes.
