The Infrastructure Association of Queensland (IAQ) has appointed a new CEO, following an extensive and competitive selection process.
IAQ Chair, Jon Frew, welcomed Tracy Mackey to the association.
“This appointment continues IAQ’s evolution and marks the start of an exciting new chapter for our industry.
“Tracy is an outstanding choice bringing a wealth of experience and deep understanding of regulatory and policy environments. Tracy’s strategic leadership will be critical in ensuring IAQ continues to drive the best outcomes for the sector and the communities we serve,” he said.
The IAQ said Tracy steps into the role at an important time for Queensland’s infrastructure sector, with the state navigating investment changes, industry transformation, emerging technologies and the lead-up to the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
With a strong track record across government and the private sector, including as CEO of the NSW Environment Protection Authority, Tracy’s leadership will be an asset to IAQ and its members. Her expertise in government and stakeholder engagement will be invaluable as IAQ works to support industry in 2025 and beyond.
Ms Mackey said, “Queensland’s infrastructure sector is at an inflection point with a real opportunity to collaborate to develop a clear vision for the future. I look forward to working with members to ensure IAQ continues to deliver engaging events and quality discussions. IAQ is in great shape and I am looking forward to exploring how we can expand the reach and influence of the organisation and importantly work with our members and partners to ensure the industry is best positioned to deliver lasting impact for Queenslanders.”
Mr Frew said IAQ is entering a new phase of leadership at a time when the industry needs it most.
“Tracy’s appointment ensures IAQ remains a strong, solutions-focused voice for the sector.”
