Kellyville station design released

The design of the new Kellyville Station has been released as part of the $8.3 billion Sydney Metro Northwest project.

Kellyville Station is one of two stations being built on the four kilometer elevated skytrain between Bella Vista and Rouse Hill.

The skytrain at Kellyville has been completed and handed over to Northwest Rapid Transit, which will build the new station and lay new metro railway tracks.

This state-of-the-art metro station is being built 13m above ground on the skytrain, keeping the community connected below it.

In keeping with the design of all Sydney Metro stations, Kellyville will feature Australian-first platform screen doors, which keep objects like prams away from the edge and allow trains to get in and out of stations much faster.

The station, at the corner of Old Windsor Road and Samantha Riley Drive, includes:

  • 1,200 commuter car parking spaces
  • Four bus spaces
  • 10 kiss-and-ride and four taxi spaces
  • Parking and storage for 45 bicycles

Customer features include easy access via lifts and escalators, Australian-first video help points on platforms and at the stations, weather protection and plenty of natural light.

The new station will provide rail access and a public transport interchange for people living in surrounding suburbs like Kellyville, Beaumont Hills and Stanhope Gardens.

New access roads will be built, and Samantha Riley Drive will be widened to accommodate additional turning lanes. A new pedestrian bridge across Old Windsor Road and the T-way at the intersection with Samantha Riley Drive and Newbury Avenue will also be constructed.

Kellyville is one of 31 Sydney Metro stations. It opens in the first half of 2019 with a metro train every four minutes in the peak.
