A month-long construction blitz between 15 November and 18 December 2017 will see the Camp Road level crossing in Campbellfield removed by the end of 2017.
Up to 300 people will be working on the project at its peak, with works to include lowering the rail line under Camp Road and building the new road bridge.
Workers will excavate 85,000 cubic metres of soil to create the rail trench – equal to 30 Olympic swimming pools.
Two massive piling rigs, each weighing 100 tonnes, will also help prepare the road bridge foundations.
The project will be fully complete, including finishing touches and landscaping, by early 2018.
