Repairs are underway on an 80km section of Western Australia’s South Coast Highway east of Ravensthorpe to Munglinup following severe road and bridge damage.
Repairs to the road towards Jerdacuttup and Oldfield Bridges are now complete and work to reinstate the damaged culvert at Hatfield Road is progressing well.
Work will also begin on constructing a temporary causeway on the western side of Ravensthorpe at Phillips River where the traffic bridge was destroyed. A detour north of the river crossing will remain in place until the temporary causeway is constructed in three to five weeks.
All major roads in the Wheatbelt have reopened to vehicles.
Over mass loads have been temporarily banned from the Williams River Bridge in Williams on the Albany Highway until minor strengthening works are carried out.
