An amendment of the Victoria Planning Provisions (VPP) was announced on 31 July to simplify and modernise Victoria’s planning policy and rules, introducing the most sizeable change the VPP has seen since its creation.
Amendment VC148 – reforms to the Victoria Planning Provisions has introduced a new integrated Planning Policy Framework (PPF) with state and regional planning policies combined into a single policy source. This has created a policy framework that is consistent, succinct and easier to use.
Individual sections of all Victorian Planning Schemes and the Victoria Planning Provisions (VPP) are in the process of being updated. While the update is occurring, a complete updated version of every planning scheme and the VPP is available on Planning Schemes Online as combined PDF documents.
A suite of helpful supporting documents have been created to help explain the amendment in more detail. In addition, the department has created the VC148 Clause Finder tool which helps users navigate the changes on a clause by clause basis.
