The South Australian State Government is investing more than $3.2 million to improve safety on country roads, with works set to occur between February and April 2017.
Almost 50km of roads in the Mid North and the Barossa will be upgraded, including resealing 14km of Eden Valley Road between Angaston and Angas Valley Road intersection.
The $1.564 million works will also involve the installation of approximately 230m of safety barrier at various locations to help protect motorists from roadside hazards and help to minimise the severity of accidents.
An additional $1.7 million will be spent resurfacing 30km of roads in the Mid North region, including around Auburn, Spalding, Jamestown and Hallett.
The State Government is spending more than half a billion dollars over four years on critical road maintenance and safety upgrades, with more than $341 million to be spent in regional areas.
This includes an extra $110 million over four years in the 2015-16 Budget for more than 185 critical road projects supporting more than 300 jobs, with more than $70 million going to regional areas.
