Work to expand the Milsons Point Wharf will start from 27 April and be closed for around six months to allow the essential work to be carried out.
The upgrade is part of the NSW Government’s Transport Access Program – an initiative to deliver, safe and accessible infrastructure across the state.
The upgrade of Milsons Point Ferry Wharf will be carried out by Roads and Maritime Services.
During construction, ferry services and charters will operate from Jeffrey Street Wharf at Kirribilli.
The expansion work will provide the public with a second platform, providing capacity for additional ferry services and improving boarding and disembarking.
The expanded waiting area will provide additional seating areas, and improved pedestrian access from the foreshore to the wharf.“Community feedback was taken into account in finalising the design, with two community information sessions held to discuss the expansion in detail.
