More domestic flights from Brisbane with Virgin Australia

Virgin Australia has announced an additional 25 domestic flights each week from Brisbane Airport over the Easter holidays, travelling to Cairns, Hamilton Island, Whitsunday Coast, Launceston, and Hobart.

Gert-Jan de Graaff, Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) Chief Executive Officer, welcomed the announcement, saying it was good news not only for Brisbane Airport, but for the entire domestic network.

“Expanding services to meet pent-up travel demand and ever-increasing consumer confidence is a positive sign that we are moving in the right direction,” Mr de Graaff said.

“Brisbane Airport is already the best domestically connected airport in Australia, but the addition of these services will allow us to connect even more people with places, support more regional tourism, and do more to stimulate the economy.

“Expanding frequencies to key leisure destinations like Hamilton Island and the Whitsunday Coast will deliver a huge boost to local businesses across Queensland that have been doing it tough throughout the pandemic.

“With additional services to Hobart and Launceston, more Queenslanders will be able to explore their own backyard and experience Tasmania’s unspoilt landscape over the Easter break.”

Brisbane Airport has received international endorsement for its COVID Safe practices with Airports Council International (ACI) awarding it Airport Health Accreditation (AHA).
