Communities in Sydney’s north-west are set to benefit from improved emergency and mobile healthcare services, with the design for a new ambulance station at Macquarie Park unveiled by the New South Wales Government.
The purpose-built facility will be delivered as part of the New South Wales Government’s $615.5 million NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program and is designed to support growing demand across Sydney’s expanding north-west corridor.
Located on the corner of Khartoum Road and Tasman Place in Macquarie Park, the new station will include internal parking for up to 12 emergency ambulance vehicles, vehicle wash facilities, administration and logistics areas, multipurpose spaces, staff amenities including a gym, and on-site parking.
Construction is expected to begin later in 2026, subject to planning approval and the appointment of contractors.
The station was identified by NSW Ambulance as a priority project following service planning and analysis of Triple Zero call data, aimed at improving response times and better supporting emergency and mobile medical care across the region.
The project forms part of a broader program delivering 30 new ambulance stations and supporting infrastructure across Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Hunter and Illawarra regions.
The New South Wales Government is also recruiting an additional 2,500 NSW Ambulance staff, including 500 paramedics for rural and regional areas, to strengthen emergency healthcare services across the state.
The announcement comes alongside the New South Wales Government’s $526.8 million redevelopment of the nearby Ryde Hospital, which is currently under construction and will provide expanded health infrastructure for Sydney’s growing north-west.
New South Wales Minister for Health, Ryan Park, said the project would provide paramedics with modern facilities to support frontline care.
“We’re backing our paramedics with the modern infrastructure and resources they need to deliver high-quality mobile emergency care for communities across NSW,” Park said.
“More ambulance stations, more paramedics, faster response times, resulting in better patient outcomes.”
Federal Member for Bennelong, Jerome Laxale, said the station would strengthen emergency healthcare services across the area.
“Local paramedics will have a purpose-built ambulance station to help them deliver the best possible emergency and mobile medical care to the local community when and where it is needed,” Laxale said.
“The new Macquarie Park Ambulance Station will function in support of other stations located across the greater Ryde, Gladesville, and North Shore areas.”
