The Port Authority has announced the re-appointment of its Chief Executive Officer for a three-year term.
The Port Authority Chairman, Nicholas Whitlam, said Grant Gilfillan had been reappointed to the position.
“Mr Gilfillan brings a wealth of knowledge, industry experience and outstanding leadership to the role,” said Mr Whitlam.
“In the two years since the amalgamation of the Sydney, Newcastle and Port Kembla port corporations Grant has led the Authority in improving our financial performance, embedding a safety culture throughout the corporation and facilitating the growth of those activities for which we are responsible, notably cruise”.
Mr Gilfillan was first appointed CEO and a Director of Sydney Ports Corporation in 2008 and led the corporation through the long-term lease of Port Botany’s landslide activities in in 2013.
While continuing as CEO of the Sydney Ports Corporation, he was appointed CEO and a Director of Newcastle Port Corporation, where he led the long term lease process of Newcastle’s land-side activities in 2014.
Mr Gilfillan, has continued as CEO of the amalgamated Port Authority of NSW since its inception on 1 July 2014.
The Port Authority of NSW is a state-owned corporation with responsibility for Sydney Harbour, Port Botany, Port Kembla and the ports of Newcastle, Eden and Yamba.
