The Northern Territory Government has released the state’s Civil Works procurement plan for the next quarter, which showcases to the industry tenders that will be available during this period.

Road sealing, road safety upgrades and transport infrastructure is the main focus of this quarter’s works, which aims to assist local businesses in planning for future works.

The Civil Works procurement plan outlines future projects until February 2022, detailing a total of 88 Tier 3, 4 and 5 projects available for tender.

The plan includes:

  • Sealing of new truck bays along the Plenty Highway
  • Upgrades to Belyuen Airstrip
  • Upgrades to the Tanami Road
  • Upgrades to the Sandover Highway
  • Darwin and Alice Springs bus stop upgrades
  • Upgrades to the Buchanan highway
  • Upgrades to the Lajamanu and Borroloola Aerodromes
  • Sealing and safety barrier upgrades to the Barkly Highway

Northern Territory Minister for Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics, Eva Lawler, said, “Planning for future works means businesses can keep a steady workflow of employees, keeping Territorians employed.

“We are a Government that invests in infrastructure projects that improve services and attract more people to the Territory.

“This Government has invested heavily in job-creating infrastructure, stimulus programs and turbocharging tourism – backing Territory businesses – making sure that local jobs come first.”

The Northern Territory Government investment in strategic infrastructure and a steady pipeline of projects aims to support the construction and civil industries and provide economic growth to the state.
