A South Australian construction company has been awarded a contract by the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) to upgrade Point Sinclair road.

Ceduna Bulk Hauliers and Earthmovers were awarded the $543 000 contract to undertake a total of 12km of re-sheeting on various sections of Point Sinclair road, near Penong in South Australia.

The upgrade is funded by the Australian Government’s Roads to Recovery Program and aims to improve ride quality and safety for road users such as local pastoralists, heavy vehicles and tourists.

Drainage in the upgraded sections will also be improved during wet weather events.

Works are expected to commence in June 2016 and be completed by the end of August 2016, weather permitting.
