Port of Brisbane (PBPL) has announced the appointment of its new Chief Financial Officer.
Karen Wells has accepted the position, bringing extensive experience in finance and strategy across a wide range of infrastructure businesses in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa.
PBPL Chief Executive Officer, Roy Cummins, said Ms Wells’ appointment was an exciting step forward for the Port.
“We are delighted to welcome Karen to the role of Chief Financial Officer at the Port of Brisbane,” Mr Cummins said.
“Karen brings a broad range of financial and corporate expertise which will help our business continue to grow and service our customers and the state.
“As a member of our Executive team, Karen will play a valuable role as we continue to facilitate trade growth and deliver key infrastructure projects that will position the Port well for the future.”
Ms Wells’ prior experience includes her role as a Director at Axicom, as well as holding a number of senior roles within leading companies including Macquarie Group, Société Générale and KPMG.
“I’m very excited to be joining the Port of Brisbane at a time of immense opportunity for the business,” Ms Wells said.
“I look forward to working with Roy and the team on the next chapter of the Port of Brisbane’s long and proud history in Queensland.”
Ms Wells is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Chartered Financial Analyst of the CFA Institute and Chartered Accountant.
