Port of Brisbane (PBPL) has appointed a number of technical advisors to progress planning for the proposed Brisbane International Cruise Terminal.
The appointments include, CPM Engineering – Project Management Assistance; ARUP (in conjunction with Arkhefield) – Engineering and Design consultants; and BMT WBM and Buckley Vann Planning – Planning applications and lodgements
Port of Brisbane CEO, Roy Cummins, said the appointments will contribute to the development of the Port’s Detailed Proposal, which will be the final Stage 2 submission under the Queensland Government’s Market-led Proposal framework.
“While the PBPL Board has not made a final investment decision, we are working to deliver the most compelling business case to Government,” Mr Cummins said.
“We have now progressed to the early design and engineering phase, and have appointed project specialists to work with us through this important planning stage.
“The teams are working to deliver a modern terminal design which meets the needs of cruise line operators, passengers and the broader community, encouraging even more cruise ships to visit south-east Queensland.
“We will continue to liaise with key project and community stakeholders, including the State Government and Brisbane City Council, as that planning progresses.”
