Port of Melbourne has appointed a new Executive General Manager, Commercial, who will have oversight of Property and Business Development.

Shaun Mooney was appointed to the role and will commence on 20 July 2020, reporting to Brendan Bourke, CEO.

Mr Mooney has experience at Linfox as General Manager Commercial Projects, and 18 years at Toll Group, where he held a variety of commercial roles across the group, including Executive General Manager – Finance & Commercial – Toll Domestic Forwarding, and Global Head – Automotive & Industrials.

Brendan Bourke, CEO Port of Melbourne, said Mr Mooney’s deep commercial experience in global freight and logistics will bring valuable knowledge and insights to the Port’s commercial operations.

“Shaun will play a vital role in helping us balance the challenges of our immediate operating environment with the long-term projects that will drive our growth.”

Mr Mooney said he was excited to be joining Port of Melbourne at a time when supply chain infrastructure is front and centre of Australia’s economic rebuild.

“Port of Melbourne has been critical in keeping Australia moving during this COVID pandemic, and it’s clear it will play a vital role as we transition to post-COVID life,” Mr Mooney said.

“I’m thrilled to be bringing my experience in financial, commercial, operational and general management to Australia’s largest capital city port.”
