Sydney Metro has lodged a Response to Submissions Report with the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure for a new proposed over and adjacent station development in Parramatta.

The new development is a vital part of the revitalisation of the Parramatta CBD and includes four new buildings, including a mix of commercial, residential and retail uses. The buildings and metro station below would be at the centre of an accessible transport hub, creating a connected employment, living and cultural centre in the heart of Greater Sydney’s Central River City.

The Concept State Significant Development Application (SSDA) for over and adjacent station development at Parramatta was on public exhibition in late 2022. Stakeholders and the community were invited to have their say by making a submission to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

Sydney Metro’s lodgement of the Response to Submissions Report is the next step in the planning process for over and adjacent station development at Parramatta and responds to the submissions and agency advice received during the public exhibition period.

A Detailed SSDA will be prepared by the future development partner for Parramatta, outlining detailed building design and responding to design considerations in the Concept SSDA.

Sydney Metro is also making provision for over and/or adjacent station development at Pyrmont, Hunter Street and Sydney Olympic Park.
