Public consultation for METRONET open

The Western Australian Government and METRONET have launched the first public consultation process for the future Morley-Ellenbrook Line plan in Perth.

A survey available to residents along the future rail corridor will feed into the government’s planning for the METRONET rail project.

Communities in the area have been invited to complete the online survey about their current travel habits and future needs as part of the planning process for the METRONET rail line to Ellenbrook via Morley.

The rail line will provide Perth’s growing north-east suburbs with improved transport connections, and create new communities around integrated station precincts.

The online survey results will gauge what the community values, their vision for the area and provide a better understanding of current travel habits.

Work has started on assessing the technical feasibility of the preferred alignment, preliminary site investigations, land use planning and high level concept design, including potential grade separations and stations.

The work will be supported by planning specialists when the major consultancy tender is awarded in early 2018.

The METRONET team has also started discussions with relevant local governments and other key stakeholders.

Residents and businesses in the communities around Ellenbrook, Aveley, Henley Brook, Dayton, Brabham, Bennett Springs, Morley, Malaga, Ballajura and surrounding suburbs are asked to complete the online survey.
