The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) will be undertaking a maintenance blitz along the Hunter Valley rail network with more than 100 projects to be delivered in the 65 hour maintenance shutdown from 6am Tuesday 15 August until 8.30pm Thursday 17 August 2017.

ARTC Executive General Manager, Jonathan Vandervoort, said, “These works are an essential part of keeping one of the busiest rail networks in the country running safely and reliably.”

The works will take place within the rail corridor from Kooragang Island, north to Narrabri and also along the Ulan line from Muswellbrook. The scheduled activity will include track reconstructions, new rail, level crossing improvements, ballast cleaning, rail corridor tidy-up works and signalling maintenance.

The maintenance works will take place from 15 August to 17 August 2017.
