Industry can now register its interest for stage 2 of the Parramatta Light Rail, which involves the construction of a bridge between Wentworth Point and Melrose Park over the Parramatta River.
New South Wales Minister for Transport, Veterans and Western Sydney, David Elliott, said he was delighted the registration of interest was now open for industry partners to be part of Western Sydney’s latest megaproject.
“We have reached the next phase of the procurement process to deliver the first significant bridge crossing over the Parramatta River since 1987,” Mr Elliott said.
“The works will include a 320m long bridge and approaches on either side of the river, totaling 1.3km, which will provide a much-needed connection for these growing communities and unlock access to the Sydney Olympic Park peninsula and its world class sporting, recreational and economic facilities.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for our industry partners to find out more about the project, and work with us to deliver innovative and reliable transport connections.
“We have seen the incredible transformation Parramatta Light Rail Stage 1 is delivering for the people of Western Sydney, and we want interested parties to come forward and be part of the exciting next phase.”
Interested parties are encouraged to visit the eTendering website launch to find out more and to register their interest.
Following this, an Expressions of Interest process will open in January 2023 for shortlisted industry partners, with construction of the Enabling Works expected to commence in 2024.
