The Australian and Western Australian Governments have awarded the contract for the construction of the Roe Highway extension to a consortium.

The consortium, comprising CPB Contractors, Georgiou, WA Limestone, GHD, AECOM and BG&E, will construct Roe 8 from west of Karel Avenue in Jandakot to Stock Road in Coolbellup in Perth.

This follows an announcement in October 2015 which named the group as the preferred proponent for the alliance for delivery of the project.

Construction of Roe 8 is scheduled to begin in late 2016/early 2017, following detailed design and the endorsement of the consortium’s project management plans.

Roe 8 is expected to directly create 400-500 jobs during the construction phase and is set to reduce congestion, improve freight efficiency and provide better safety outcomes for all road users.
